Global
Positioning System (GPS)
The
use of this state of the art technology has allowed
us to consolidate the following information in an
extremely precise and accurate manner
1.
Exact printable map of ‘How to reach the fort'.
2. ‘To The Scale’ map of the fort.
3. Points to be seen on the fort.
4. Distances amongst all these points.
5. Exact altitude of the fort.
6. Relative elevation differences of various
points of
interest on the forts.
7. Exact longitude and latitude of the fort.
8. Other forts surrounding that fort etc.
Our trekking teams were extensively trained to use
this technology. They
collected the raw information gathered from 210 forts
through the GPS.
Till today the above mentioned information for 60
forts out of the 210 has been processed. The work
continues.
